Dr Katie Hampson

Research Scientist, University of Glasgow

Dr Katie Hampson is a research scientist at the University of Glasgow, UK. She completed her PhD in Princeton, USA, before returning to the UK on a Wellcome Trust fellowship, and she continues to be funded by Wellcome.

Katie’s research is on the dynamics of infectious diseases and methods for their control and elimination, with a particular focus on rabies. Her works involves close collaborations with other scientists, field teams, local governments, NGOs and international agencies on rabies in Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa, and includes long-term field research in Tanzania. Together with collaborators she is collecting and analysing data on rabies transmission and the impacts of mass vaccination programmes.
