Research Manager, World Animal Protection

Gemma Carder is the Research Manager at World Animal Protection. Gemma is passionate about all aspects of animal welfare and believes that understanding about the emotional lives of animals is a key factor in making positive changes to their welfare and care. 

Gemma is currently working with her World Animal Protection colleague Helen on research exploring measures of emotions in dairy cows. Before joining World Animal Protection, Gemma studied both Zoology and Primatology; her previous research experience includes exploring the effects that visitors have on captive gorillas.
